William Scott Terry, 61, passed away on Saturday July 25, 2026 at his home in Weatherford.

Visitation: 5:30-8 p.m. Friday August 7 in Prince-Gray Chapel at Browning Funeral Home, Weatherford.

Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8 at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville.

Scott was born July 20, 1965 in Fort Worth; son of William Thomas Terry and Iolanda (Choinski) Terry.

He spent his career in law enforcement, proudly and bravely serving his community. After a long tenure, he would retire from the Texas Department of Public Safety. He also believed in giving back to his community. For many years he would serve his community on the Building and Standards Commission.

Scott was a kind man with a servant’s heart. In his youth he was an Eagle Scout. He loved the outdoors and loved to fish with his father, and also loved cycling, competing in hundred-mile races.

Scott grew up loving his mother’s cooking. That would foster his own love of cooking, and his love of food in general. Because of that love, he would go on to write many restaurant review articles for Parker County Today magazine under the name “The Weatherford Foodie.”

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Cecilia “Sissy” Terry.

Survivors include his sister, Karen Ruzek Bolton and husband Mark Bolton; and a lifetime of friends.
