Troy Lowell Wood, 55, peacefully passed away on Friday evening, November 28, 2025, in Willow Park, Texas, after battling complications from Adult-Onset Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy.

Born on April 26, 1970, in Dallas, he was the second son of Clark and Sylvia (Sallee) Wood. Troy grew up in Arlington and graduated from Martin High School.

Following high school, Troy dedicated two years to volunteering at the World Headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses in New York. He then served as a full-time minister and a remarkably effective Bible teacher who taught numerous Bible students, inspiring many.

Returning to Oregon, Troy earned an Associate’s Degree in Computer-Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) from a private institute. He then went to work for Gunderson Railcar & Marine Company in Portland, Oregon, in the engineering department for 4 years, drafting rail cars and marine vessels, before relocating to Cleburne, Texas, with the company’s maintenance facility. Later, Troy transitioned into the customer service industry, where his love for people and his desire to help others shone brightly.

An avid outdoorsman, Troy loved snow skiing, scuba diving, hiking, and camping, with favorite destinations including the Grand Canyon and Sequoia National Forest. A devoted football fan, he especially enjoyed cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, particularly during their victorious seasons.

Troy also had a passion for movies andquotes from movies with a fondness for vintage films, romantic comedies, and science fiction.

Troy was a sunny inspiration to friends and family throughout his life, even in his final months, when he was struggling with pain;he still managed to encourage all who visited him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 on Friday, afternoon December 19, 2025, in the Prince–Gray Chapel at Browning Funeral Home, followed by a reception in Ellis Hall at the same location.

Preceding Troy in death were his brother, Eric Dean Wood; grandparents, Jack and Drusilla Sallee, and Lowell and Alleene Wood; and his uncle, Michael K. Wood.

He is survived by his loving parents, Clark and Sylvia Salee Wood, of Weatherford, uncles, Kendall Wood of Willis, Texas, and Bill Sallee, and Aunt Kittie of Weatherford, cousins Stephen and Gretchen Wood, Paul and Nancy Wood, Joel and Annette Wood,along with numerous extended family members and a lifetime of cherished friends.
