Thomas Edward Young, 73, passed away on Monday February 2, 2026 in Cross Plains.

Memorial Visitation 1-2pm Thursday, February 12 in Prince - Gray Chapel at Browning Funeral Home, Weatherford

Celebration of Life: 2pm Thursday, February 12 in Prince - Gray Chapel at Browning Funeral Home, Weatherford.

Thomas was born January 5, 1953 in Abilene; son of Thomas Rondal Young and Laquata Joyce (Paul) Swenson.

Thomas proudly and bravely served his country in the United States Navy. It was that same spirit of service that would lead him into a career in law enforcement. He worked for many years, and would retire from, the Parker County Sheriff’s Office, where he worked as a bailiff in the court system.

Thomas traveled all over the world. He had a strong love for the outdoors, including, fishing, hunting, and barbecuing. He also was a lover of all things seafood.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Rondal Young; mother, Laquata Joyce Swenson; and grandson, Trenton Gene Fortune.

Survivors include his children, Amy Johnson, Thomas Young Jr., and Sophia Young; grandchildren; Chase Foster and Connor Cienega; his siblings, Larry Young, Brenda Beagles, and Van Young; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.

He will sincerely be missed.
