Susan Kay (Burwell) Swierk, 52, passed away in the evening hours of Sunday June 29, 2025.
Susan was born on December 16, 1972 in Champaign, IL; daughter of Allen A. Burwell and Donna Kay (Griffin) Burwell. Donna would go on to marry Stanford Sharp, who would play a very active part in raising Susan.
She is preceded in death by her stepfather Stanford Sharp; her maternal grandparents, Hazo and Sarah Griffin; and her paternal grandparents, William and Helen Burwell.
Survivors include her son, Michael Flemming; father, Allen Burwell, of Daytona FL; mother, Donna (Griffin) Sharp, of Pontiac, IL; brother, Jim Burwell, of Granbury, TX; sisters, Annie (Burwell) Long, of Pontiac IL, and Lori (Burwell) Epperson, of Mattoon, IL; special friends (true “sisters at heart”), Annie Carbone and Laura Hochstetler, both of Weatherford, TX; a host of extended family; and a lifetime of friends.
