Rodney Keith Yount, 62, took his first breath in eternity on the evening of December 20, 2025. He peacefully entered the Kingdom holding the hand of his devoted wife, Tammy. Rodney fought a short, but courageous battle with esophageal cancer. This cruel disease did not defeat him, instead he finished the race set out before him with EXCELLENCE.

His greatest JOY in life was without a doubt being an adoring husband and a devoted daddy. He and Tammy celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on May 21. And the light of their lives, their son Rhen, will turn 15 on January 1. Rodney’s loyalty to his friends was always on display.

Rodney had a love for horses from a very young age. His love for the animal drove his desire to become a gifted farrier.

Rodney’s customers were not about a transaction or just offering a service, to him it was all about building relationships that became dear friends.

Rodney was a giant in the Faith with his humble spirit. He spurred others towards their Faith, not with a lot of words, but with the life he lived. Rodney had a deep desire to bring people to the saving grace of Jesus. He often said, to be absent from the body is the be present with The Lord! His Faith has been made sight and he is healed and whole just as God promised.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents Hugh and Evelyn Yount as well as his sister, Carol Maxey.

Survivors include his loving wife, Tammy (Kilian) Yount and son Rhen Keith Yount of Mineral Wells, TX. His brother Mayford Yount and wife Mavis their daughter Regina Yount of Morristown, TN. His sister Majorie Johnson of Morristown, TN. Rodney was born later in his parent’s life and grew up with his nieces more like sisters including: Tracy Gilbert, Cynthia Collins, and Janie Maxey of Morristown, TN. Jill McCoy and nephew Ted Johnson of Bean Station, TN. Jim and Margaret Kilian (Medford, OK) his in-laws that thought of him as their own. His wife’s siblings Jackie Jeter (Mineral Wells, TX), Mendy Bailey (Medford, OK), Justin Kilian (Tulsa, OK), James Kilian (Minneapolis, MN), Amy McReynolds (Lamont, OK), Jason Kilian (Medford, OK), and their families. A host of extended family and a lifetime of friends.
