Melvin Walton

Melvin Walton, 72, passed away on Saturday February 7, 2026 in Granbury.

Melvin was born June 22, 1953 in Bryan; son of Alvia Walton, and Elizabeth (Hill) Walton.

Melvin worked for decades in the Dry Cleaning business, working his way up to head operator. He loved to play bingo and dominoes, and also enjoyed sports; especially the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks.

He was independent and strong in his faith, and as long as his health would allow he could be found in church every Sunday.

Of all of the things that Melvin enjoyed in life, his first love was his family. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Ester Walton; his children, Subrena Walton and Desiree Walton; grandchildren, Curtis, Nikedrek, Christopher, Nelson, Bryson, and Ayanah; great-grandchildren, Bryson,Jr, Adonis, Mia, and Zane; sisters, Barbara, Mamie, Josephine, Janniful, and Gloria; brothers, Ray, Robert, Jody, Terry, Alton, and William; many nieces and nephews; countless extended family members, and a lifetime of friends.
