John Pastrana “Johnny” Flores Jr., 66, passed away in the morning hours of Sunday October 18, 2026 in Fort Worth.

Johnny was born February 12, 1960 in Denver, CO; son of John Pastrana Flores Sr. and Merrelyn (Machado) Flores.

The family would move to Texas in 1969. Johnny was raised in Bennett, TX and attended Millsap High School, and would graduate from Millsap in 1979.

After his graduation, Johnny worked in the Oil & Gas industry for as long as his health would allow.

He was a simple, quiet man, with a kind-heart and trusting spirit. He easily made friends everywhere he went. He loved movies, was very artistic, and enjoyed crafting.

He loved his country, and following in the footsteps of his father, he was a very active member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 75 in Mineral Wells. Johnny also was involved with VFW Post 2399, also in Mineral Wells.

Of all of the things Johnny enjoyed in life, his greatest joy was his family. In fact, family time meant the world to him. Some of the best times of his life were spent fishing with his dad, and he loved to spend time with (and spoil) his niece and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Patrick Flores.

Survivors include his sisters, Juanita Huddleston (Roger), Merrelyn Thompson (Scott), Anita Flores (Petri Neuvonen); nephews, John Estes, Joshua Estes, and Joseph VanHorn; niece, Anna VanHorn; great-niece, Aria Estes; great-nephew, Trip Estes; several cousins in both Texas and Colorado; numerous other family members, and a lifetime of friends.
