David was born May 9, 1968 in Redding, CA; son of Adolf Zoellmer and Carla (Holtzclaw) Zoellmer.

He proudly and bravely served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Even after his enlistment had ended, he always maintained a deep love for “The Corps,” making him the true embodiment of the old adage “Once a Marine, Always a Marine.”

He loved the outdoors, and he enjoyed both fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed collecting guns, and playing Texas Hold’em. Not to mention football, and in particular, the Pittsburg Steelers.

He loved a good joke, and making people smile. He will also be remembered for his funny impressions of characters.

Having a mechanical mind, he enjoyed working on his truck. A life-long dream of his was to open an automotive shop. That dream was atop the list of things he would do “If I won the lottery. He also had a teachers heart, and would always try to share some knowledge with others. He could always be counted on for helping you learn something new.

Of all of the things that brought him joy in life, his first love was his family. He loved to share stories about his life, and his family. In fact, some of his favorite pass-times were watching John Wayne movies, which reminded him of his dad; and cooking, which he learned from his great-grandma, Ruby.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Tomasa (Avendano) Zoellmer; two sons, Charles David Zoellmer and Justin Quinn Zoellmer; his stepdaughter, Yandi Adonai Dith; as well as numerous extended family members and a lifetime of friends.
