Brenda Joyce "BJ" (Alberts) Towers, 71, passed away on Tuesday March 10, 2026, in Fort Worth.

Brenda was born September 28, 1954 in Spokane, WA; daughter of Kenneth Charles Alberts and Mildred Louise Alberts.

She graduated from North Central High School in Spokane, WA and would go on to spend a great deal of her career working in Human Resources.

She met the love of her life, Gary Allen Towers, and they were married on August 24, 2001. The would go on to spend over 25 happy years together.

Brenda will be remembered as a light in the world and was a strong woman of faith. She was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of Granbury, where she was ordained as an Elder in January of this year.

She was a very patriotic soul, with a true desire to help those veterans who bravely and proudly protected America. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 491 in Granbury, where she served in several capacities; and would go on to be the only President of the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Texas to serve two consecutive terms, 2019-2021, since 1927. In February of this year, she was awarded the Four Chaplains Award from the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also bestowed the honor of being proclaimed an Honorary Admiral in the Texas Navy.

She and Gary loved Harley Davidson motorcycles. Over the years they would tour the country with commemorative bikes that they had built to honor our military, with the most famous of those bikes being GI Joe. It was this shared love of Harleys that would bring her to become a life member of the Harley Owners Group, from which she would receive the Willy G Award. It was also that love that would lead her and Gary to not only be partners in life, but also in business. Prior to her retirement, she would be the co-owner, and Vice President of Road Hog Enterprises.

Brenda was a devoted wife, loving mother, and fierce friend who loved her family, her life on the lake, and her beloved husky, Juneau.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Michael Wayne Alberts.

Survivors include her loving husband, Gary Towers; children, Jaime Christine Cooper (Terry), Adam Jeffrey Miller (Melanie), and Traci Nicole Meyer (Kevin); 4 grandchildren; brother, Douglas Glenn Alberts; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of extended family members; and a lifetime of friends.
